The first ascent of Mt. Robson occurred, which had defeated aspirant climbers for years, occurred in 1913; Conrad Kain guided two climbers at an Alpine Club of Canada camp. He had planned his route in 1911, up the east face of Robson, a route still famous which bears his name.
