Twenty-two km. long, Maligne Lake is the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies. Many of the mountains and features surrounding the lake were named by author, botanist and photographer, Mary Schäffer Warren, who is credited with being, in 1907, the first white woman to see the lake. She returned to the Rockies to heal her heart after losing her first husband, botanist Charles Schäffer, and married her guide, Billy Warren.

Exhibition-quality archival digital print made with pigment inks on acid-free cotton fibre paper.

High resolution scanning and restoration of original negatives and transparencies by Carole Harmon.

  • 14×20 inch print = 13×19 inch image + ½ inch border on 14×20 inch paper.

  • 21×30 inch print = 20×29 inch image + ½ inch border on 21×30 inch paper.
